TAP is the Portuguese leading airline and has been a member of Star Alliance – the global airline alliance offering customers worldwide connections and excellent service – since 2005. The airline offers routes to 89 destinations across 35 countries worldwide.
TAP is the most frequent flyer to Portugal from the UK, with up to 100 weekly flights to Lisbon and Porto from London City, Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester. The airline’s hub in Lisbon is a key European gateway, positioned at the crossroads of Africa, as well as North, Central and South America where TAP stands out as the international leading carrier to Brazil. Here, it operates in 10 cities: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Fortaleza, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Natal, Porto Alegre and Belém.
From 3rd July, the airline will begin a new service between Lisbon and Conakry, offering three weekly flights between the two capitals. With the launch of this new route to Africa, TAP will cover 17 cities in 11 countries across the continent. In addition to Conakry, the carrier also flies to Luanda, Maputo, S. Tomé, Bissau, Praia, Sal, São Vicente, Boa Vista, Marrakesh, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, Dakar, Abidjan, Accra and Lomé.
The modernisation of TAP’s fleet is part of the company’s ambition to offer its customers the best product in the industry. The airline has recently accepted the delivery of the world’s first new generation of wide body A330neo. As the first airline carrier to use this new type of aircraft, TAP will benefit from increased fuel efficiency, improved commodities and greater onboard comfort.
The new A330-900 features 298 seats in a comfortable three-class layout, with 34 full-flat seats in business class, 96 seats in economy plus and 168 in economy class. The Airspace by Airbus cabin offers more personal space, larger overhead storage bins, advanced cabin lighting and the latest generation of in-flight entertainment system and connectivity.
TAP is inaugurating a new way to travel on long haul flights, as the first company in the world to operate the Airbus A330neo. The new aircraft offers passengers exceptional comfort, reduced noise and cutting-edge technology, including a state-of-the-art on-board entertainment and connectivity system.
TAP is also a pioneer in offering free unlimited text messages via Wi-Fi on transatlantic flights for all passengers – at no extra cost.
By the end of 2019, TAP will have received 37 new aircraft from the four Airbus models: A320neo, A321neo, A321LR and A330neo. This will be followed by a further 71 aircraft by 2025, thereby making it one of the most modern fleets in the world.
