We’ve recently welcomed several new members to our U.S-based Rushmore team! With the help of these new team members, we are confident that our clients across the pond will receive the continuous support and high-quality customer service they expect and deserve.
To celebrate our new additions, we’ve decided to do a special ‘meet the team’ blog post to get to know them a little better…
1. Why did you choose to work for Diversity Travel?
Megan: “I chose Diversity Travel because of their growth opportunities. I am really looking forward to getting to know new clients and working together to make their lives and jobs easier!”
Kahalia: “I was looking for a change of pace and wanted to be part of a company that truly values its employees and clients alike. It’s a really exciting time as Diversity Travel grows and I am happy to be part of the team!”
Maxime: “I chose to work for Diversity because of the company’s astonishing growth in the past few years and brilliant staff. I look forward to gaining a great deal of knowledge in the NGO sector of business travel.”
Pia: “I chose to join Diversity because I believe and share its core values as a company: caring for each other, our clients and our communities.”
2. What did you do before Diversity Travel?
Megan: “Prior to working at Diversity Travel, I worked for another NGO travel company. The clients are very similar and have similar needs and destinations. We use different systems here at Diversity Travel that are more advanced and user friendly.”
Kahalia: “I worked in travel for 1 ½ years prior to coming to Diversity Travel. Before that, my experience was with hotels, working at multiple properties along the east coast of the US. My focus was primarily in Operations within the Rooms Department.”
Maxime: “Before Diversity Travel, I started in leisure within the cruise industry and then transitioned into corporate travel.”
Pia: “I started my career in the travel industry working for an international airline. I eventually moved on to work for travel agencies and a Travel Management Company. Caring for travelers is the common goal of my jobs, both past and present.”
3. What are you looking forward to in the future?
Megan: “I’m really looking forward to going to Italy on my next trip!”
Kahalia: “I am looking forward to growing within Diversity. As the US offices grow, I hope to really use this opportunity to gain more knowledge of the travel industry and to become a great asset to the team!”
Maxime: “I look forward to cross training in other departments to gain knowledge of our different roles and responsibilities. I would like to be a part of the training team one day and meet the rest of the staff in Manchester.”
Pia: “I believe in commitment. I intend to grow and stay with the company for a long time!”
4. What’s the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Megan: “My favorite trip so far was to Playa Del Carmen! It was the perfect location to enjoy an all-inclusive resort on the beach, which is super close to the town where you can enjoy authentic Mexican restaurants and shops! It’s also a short distance to Tulum, where we went to see the Mayan Ruins, zip lined, and swam in a cenote!”
Kahalia: “I absolutely loved Thailand! I visited during the Songkran festival and it was so much fun! I definitely suggest putting it on your list!”
Maxime: “I haven’t really traveled much since I have little ones. I’ve been living vicariously through my clients’ travel experiences!”
Pia: “I’ve been to many places in different countries but any Asian destination remains my favorite because of the food, culture and because it’s close to home.”
5. Where do you want to travel to the most and why?
Megan: “My dream vacation destinations are Hawaii and Bali! I would love to visit for the culture, food, beaches, beautiful landscapes and (Bali) temples!”
Kahalia: “For my next major trip, I would love to visit Singapore and Taiwan! I’m a huge foodie and the food markets are legendary! I love the culture and history and would love to see both countries first-hand.”
Maxime: “I’d love to come to Manchester the most so I could see the home office and meet the rest of the staff!”
Pia: “My next travel plan is to go to Iceland to see and experience the Northern Lights.”
