It was with huge pride that we watched our own Leanne Roberts win Business Travel Agent of the Year at the TTG Travel Awards 2019!
On Monday 16th September, hundreds of guests gathered at The Lyceum Theatre in London in anticipation of the prestigious TTG Travel Awards ceremony. The awards recognise the best agents and suppliers in the travel industry, so it’s no wonder there is always a lot of excitement leading up to the event!
This year, we were thrilled to have two members of the Diversity Travel team selected as finalists for two categories: Leanne Roberts was shortlisted for Business Travel Agent of the Year, which recognises business travel agents who have demonstrated the best performance over the past year, and Reanna Grant was shortlisted for Manager of the Year, which celebrates managers who have been an inspiration to their team and taught them to be the best that they can be. The night was one to remember for the nominees, who said, “The overall night was amazing – such a fantastic experience! From the live performances at the Lyceum Theatre such as the musical SIX, to the fabulous food and entertainment at The Savoy hotel… but for us the highlight was meeting Jennifer Saunders.”
There was some tough competition but the judging panel came to the decision that Leanne was worthy of 2019’s Business Travel Agent of the Year award! The win is a reflection of the commitment and hard work that Leanne continuously demonstrates; she is someone who works relentlessly to make our customers happy, and she won’t stop until she succeeds.
“I was so overwhelmed when I heard my name as the winner of the Business Travel Agent of the Year! Such an honour to get up on that stage and receive the award in front of all those people and knowing that over 100 agents applied too.”
– Leanne Roberts, Business Travel Agent of the Year
Leanne was also named Outstanding Achiever of the Year at our annual staff awards for consistently delivering an outstanding service. She shows empathy and understanding to both clients and colleagues, and keeps our values at the heart of what she does on a daily basis. When asked about her role, Leanne said, “I love how diverse my role is and that no one day is the same; each day brings a new challenge. Predominantly being a homeworker for the last 10 years, I really enjoy being part of the management team and working together to achieve the best service we can for our clients. I’m also really enjoying client visits and feeling like I can really help to make a difference and build on relationships.”
Leanne’s success means that we have won TTG’s Business Travel Agent of the Year for three years running now: Sarah Hart won the award in 2017 and David Shenton took the title last year.
Reanna Grant, Diversity Travel’s Deputy Operations Manager, also did us proud with her position as finalist in the Manager of the Year category. We are lucky to have her on the team, acting as a shining example to our dedicated Reservations teams!
We’d like to say congratulations to all the other finalists and winners in this year’s categories. You can view the full list here.
