Cathay Pacific will offer free Covid insurance for any passengers wishing to travel between 7th December 2020 and 28th February 2021. This includes bookings made via Diversity Travel.
The insurance covers all medical expenses related to a Covid-19 diagnosis incurred whilst overseas. The insurance is automatically applied when customers book a flight.
The coverage includes:
- Medical and hospitalization – passengers Covid-19 PCR tests and hospitalisation, if necessary up to US$200,000.
- Quarantine costs – passengers will receive an allowance of US$100 per day per passenger for up to 14 days due to Covid-19 to help during periods of unforeseen and mandatory quarantine.
- Evacuation and repatriation – the airline will ensure that affected customers, as well as their travel companions and children get home.
Customers are covered for a period of 30 days starting from the date of their departure, or until they return to their home, whichever is earliest.
