The United Services Trade Union (ver.di) has called for ground staff at all Lufthansa bases to go on stirke this Wednesday, 7th February.

Staff at Franfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Dusseldorf airports will take part in an all day walkout following an ongoing pay dispute.

In a statement the union has said that the walkout will start at 4am (0200GMT) on Wednesday morning, and will last 27 hours until 7am on Thursday.

The stike comes as the lastest form of travel disruption in Germany this year, with the action coinciding with contract negotiations in the rail, air and local transport sectors. Just last week security workers at most of Germany's major airports were called out on a one day strike that caused major disruption and widespread flight cancellations.

Passengers affected by the cancelations will be informed immediately today through the contact details provided in their booking, and rebooked on an alternative flight if possible.

If you are due to fly with Lufthansa to any of these destinations and have not been contacted by the airline and would like more information, please contact our dedicated reservations team to assist you.
